Fireplaces It is possible to install a fireplace on a DIY basis and we will be pleased to give the necessary hints and tips to anyone who is keen and feels competent. Contact our showroom to check when an advisor will be available to help. Very few of our customers wish to do so though as it usually involves working in the lounge. The disruption and mess involved often impact upon the family for some time and thus it is usual for us to remove the old fireplace, fit the new and leave the Householder to decorate afterward. Whenever a fireplace is to be installed we recommend that the chimney be swept first and the room cleared as much as is practicable of all possessions and then any remaining furniture covered so that we can take responsibility for protection of the floor.
